Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a form of Psychotherapy  used to create unconscious change in the patient in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviours or feelings. It is undertaken with a client in a  comfortable state of relaxation. Hypnotherapy is none intrusive and none suggestive, we merely guide the client to areas we feel they many have issues by asking them to recall memories.

I use Hypnotherapy with clients when they are unaware of why or what is effecting them, often it is a hidden memory from the past and just needs help to surface in a safe and therapeutic  environment. Our mind thinks in pictures so we have vivid memories of life from the day we are born in a filing system in our minds, Hypnotherapy is just opening that file and finding the root cause for the pain or fear causing a problem.

Many misconceptions about hypnotherapy cause people to worry about using it.

Firstly  in Analytical Hypnotherapy the client is not asleep and is very much aware of what they are saying.

Secondly Analytical hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis, in fact they should not be called the same name. Stage hypnosis is suggestive hypnosis  created for entertainment, and Analytical Hypnotherapy is holistic and in the clients control.

Thirdly Analytical hypnosis is just a mild daydream trance  not a deep unconscious trance, which allows your subconscious mind to open up and release its hidden memories.  Many clients after a session of Hypnosis say “I wish I had done that earlier” or ” I didn’t think I was hypnotised” or “I feel like a weight has been lifted off me now and I can get on with my life” This is the power of hypnosis and is totally safe in the hands of an experienced Hypnotherapist like myself. I trained with the Ichp in Marino Institute in Dublin Ireland
